W.A.S.P. Cancel Turkish Concert
July 8, 2006W.A.S.P. have cancelled their previously announced July 14 concert at Refresh The Venue in Istanbul, Turkey. Several Turkish web sites — including DeliKasap.com and AnthROCKSion.com — are reporting that the show was called off because W.A.S.P. mainman Blackie Lawless suffered a heart attack and is forbidden from flying for three weeks, but this information has yet to be officially confirmed by anyone in the W.A.S.P. camp and should be treated as a **RUMOR ONLY**. [UPDATE: W.A.S.P.'s management has since issued a statement stressing that Blackie **DID NOT** suffer a heart attack, as was erroneously reported on several Turkish web sites.]
W.A.S.P. recently returned to the studio and begun recording new material for their next release, tentatively due September 2006.
W.A.S.P. are continuing to tour in support of their latest album, "The Neon God Part 2: The Demise", available now via Sanctuary Records' Metal-Is imprint.
